A recent panel at the TokenizeThis conference in New York discussed the potential for tokenized stocks, focusing on retail adoption of tokenized real-world assets (RWAs). Stablecoins, primarily tokenized dollars, constitute a nearly $230 billion market, while onchain RWAs amount to $18.5 billion. A Bitwise report called Q1 ’the best worst quarter in crypto’s history,’ noting that while asset prices fell, the stablecoin market cap hit a new high and tokenized RWAs grew 37% quarter over quarter. Regulatory progress was also mentioned.
